Fast Track Commercial Pilot Program

The Waterloo-Wellington Flight Centre is proud to offer the Fast Track Commercial Pilot Program. The program is a professional pilot program designed to meet the strict standards mandated by Transport Canada to address industry demands for a better trained, more work-ready pilot. If you are focused on a career in aviation then be aware that the program is quickly becoming the new standard for training commercial pilots in Canada. It is specifically designed to combine the skills required by Transport Canada with the skills sought after by potential employers. The Crew Resource Management centered curriculum includes courses such as advanced aircraft systems, current issues analysis and job preparedness.

Due to industry demands, students are looking for the edge which will give them a better chance at being hired. At this time, the Waterloo-Wellington Flight Centre is one of only a few flight training units in Canada offering a stand-alone (non-university or non-college) Transport Canada approved curriculum. Upon completion of the program, you will graduate from one of the finest flight training schools in Canada.

In a survey of 20 commercial air carriers in Ontario which hire entry-level pilots, it was found that the most common skills desired of these carriers were experience in a multi-crew environment, multi-time, specialized certificates, advanced simulator time, and interview skills – all of which prepare the line-ready pilot. Students surveyed indicated that they were looking for training in the multi-crew environment, advanced aircraft systems, Electronic Flight Information Display (EFIS) and Flight Management Systems (FMS), networking skills and the development of professional standards. The program at the Waterloo-Wellington Flight Centre develops these qualities and skills.
