Fast Track Commercial Pilot Program

About the Program

The central theme running through all phases of our program is Crew Resource Management, or CRM. CRM is a concept practiced on the flight deck of companies large and small, to improve safety for passengers and crew when working in a multi-crew environment. The program develops CRM skills on the ground (group projects) and in the air (two-crew flying). The syllabus has been designed with the help of several professionals working as pilots in the airline industry, and in management positions with aviation companies. A course calendar is available to all prospective students.

Entry Requirements

Students must be 18 years of age or older, have a high school diploma and a Category 1 aviation medical. No previous flight training is necessary. Interested students submit an application form as well as a resumé. Students under consideration will attend an interview with the program Coordinators. A financial plan to cover the costs of the program must be provided at the interview.

Program Structure

The Fast Track Commercial Pilot program is a full-time program. Classes run 16 months continuously, divided into four terms. Each term runs for four months, much like normal school semesters. Classes are held Monday to Friday, usually in the morning, and then flying takes place in the afternoon. Daily class attendance is mandatory. Testing is frequent. Exams take place in the last month of classes for each term. All flights are pre-booked. All student dual flight rosters are pre-determined.

Attaining Credentials

Flight training culminates in the awarding of licenses and ratings. The quality of those licenses and ratings are measured by the testing and examination procedures. The required training for a marketable pilot ends with a Commercial License-Multi and IFR ratings. All tests and examinations are required to be passed to a Transport Canada designated mark as well as to more strict WWFC Standards. Upon course completion, the student earns the Commercial Multi IFR papers.
